Hepatitis C
can be cured.

Testing is the first step.

Hepatitis C can affect the liver for years without obvious symptoms. Many people do not know they have it until they get tested.

The good news is that Hepatitis C is often curable. Today, oral treatments can cure more than 95% of Hepatitis C cases, often in 8–12 weeks. But before treatment can begin, you need the right testing, confirmation, and follow-up.

At Inmuhealth, we provide Hepatitis C testing and follow-up support for patients across Miami-Dade and South Florida. We help you understand your results, explain what follow-up testing may be needed, and guide you toward the right next step if care or treatment is recommended.

Why testing matters

Hepatitis C can be recent or long-term. Some people clear the infection, but many develop chronic Hepatitis C if it is not identified and treated. When Hepatitis C becomes chronic and is left untreated, it can slowly damage the liver and may increase the risk of cirrhosis, liver cancer, and other serious health problems. Testing, diagnosis, and timely treatment can help prevent complications.
Testing is especially important if you have ever injected drugs or shared needles or equipment, received a blood transfusion or organ transplant before July 1992, had tattoos or piercings in an unregulated setting, had occupational exposure to blood, have HIV, have abnormal liver tests, or simply want to know your status.

Hepatitis C Testing & Follow-Up Includes:

  • Hepatitis C Screening
We provide Hepatitis C screening to help determine whether you may have been exposed to the virus. Because Hepatitis C often has no obvious symptoms, testing is the only way to know your status.
  • Follow-Up Testing Guidance
A positive or reactive Hepatitis C antibody test does not always mean you currently have Hepatitis C. Follow-up testing, often with an HCV RNA test, helps confirm whether there is a current infection.
  • Result Explanation
We explain your results in plain language, including whether your test shows no exposure, past exposure, or a possible current infection that needs follow-up.
  • Medical Evaluation & Next Steps
If follow-up care is needed, our team helps you understand what may come next, including medical evaluation, treatment options, lab monitoring, or referrals when appropriate.
  • Referrals & Care Coordination
When specialized liver or infectious disease care is needed, we help connect you with the right providers so you are not left navigating the process alone.

Who should get tested?

CDC recommends Hepatitis C screening for all adults 18 and older at least once in their lifetime, and for pregnant women during each pregnancy. Testing may also be recommended more often for people with certain risk factors or possible exposure.
You should also consider testing if you have abnormal liver tests, HIV, a history of injection drug use, hemodialysis, a blood transfusion or organ transplant before July 1992, occupational exposure to blood, tattoos or piercings in unregulated settings, or if you simply want to know your status.
