Tuberculosis
can be treated and cured.

Testing is the first step.

TB can be inactive for years without symptoms, or it can become active and spread to others. The only way to know what is happening is to get tested and follow up when needed.

At Inmuhealth, we help patients across Miami-Dade and South Florida access TB testing, understand their results, and take the right next step if care, documentation, or referral is needed.

Smile.

Your path to a healthier
tomorrow begins today.

TB Testing & Follow-Up Includes:

  • TB Testing Guidance
We help patients access and understand TB testing options. CDC identifies TB blood tests and TB skin tests as the two main types of tests used to detect TB infection. (CDC)
  • TB Blood Test or TB Skin Test
Depending on your situation, a provider may recommend a TB blood test or TB skin test. These tests can help determine whether your body has been exposed to TB germs.
  • Latent TB Follow-Up
A positive TB test does not always mean you have active TB disease. People with inactive TB, also called latent TB infection, do not have symptoms and cannot spread TB to others, but treatment may still be recommended to help prevent active TB disease.
  • Active TB Symptom Review
Active TB disease may cause symptoms such as a lasting cough, chest pain, coughing up blood or phlegm, fever, night sweats, fatigue, loss of appetite, and weight loss. If symptoms are present, medical follow-up is important.
Chest X-Ray & Additional Testing Guidance
If TB screening suggests possible infection, additional steps may be needed. CDC notes that evaluation for latent TB may include medical history, a TB blood or skin test, chest radiograph, physical exam, and sputum testing in certain cases.
  • Treatment & Referral Guidance
TB treatment depends on whether the person has inactive TB or active TB disease. Active TB is treated with several TB medicines because multiple medications help kill the TB germs and prevent drug resistance.
  • Documentation Support
If you need TB testing for work, school, healthcare employment, medical clearance, immigration-related paperwork, or another requirement, our team can help guide you through the testing and follow-up process.

Why TB testing matters

TB can be inactive without symptoms, so a person may feel completely fine and still need follow-up after a positive test. Without treatment, inactive TB can become active TB disease at any time.

Testing is especially important if you have been exposed to someone with TB, have symptoms, work in healthcare or high-risk settings, were born in or traveled to areas where TB is more common, have HIV or a weakened immune system, or need TB clearance for work, school, or other requirements.

In Miami-Dade, TB control and prevention is a public health priority, and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade provides TB control resources and clinic locations for follow-up care.

Don’t wait on TB concerns.

If you need TB testing or have questions about possible exposure, symptoms, or clearance requirements, Inmuhealth can help you start with the right test and understand what comes next.

You leave with more than a result — you leave with guidance, follow-up support, and a clearer next step.
